Extension Helps You With...
When you support UGA Family and Consumer Sciences Extension efforts to help youth become "relationship smart," youth learn what a healthy versus unhealthy relationship looks like, how to manage conflict in relationships and ways to avoid risky dating behaviors. Youth who learn these skills are less likely to be physically and/or sexually abused by a dating partner, engage in at-risk sexual behaviors, and have children as teenagers. Teen childbearing costs Georgia taxpayers nearly $465 million in public health care, child welfare, and other costs related to caring for the teen and child.
