UGA Designing Dawgs is a networking and informational opportunity for those in the Atlanta area who are working or are interested in the furnishings and interiors area.
Several "lead dawgs" have given leadership to this program. Those helping are: Gerri Bradford, ABJ '69; Kelly Dean, BSFCS '89; Tricia McLean, BSHE '83; Julie Reynolds, BSHE '81; Pam Goldstein, BSHE '84; and Catherine Hube Stockman, BSFCS '91.
The purpose of this group is to provide an organized forum for networking with colleagues, college friends and FACS professors/students. The lead dawgs have committed to organizing four events in 2009. The upcoming program date is September 10, 2009. Food and beverages will be provided.
The Furnishings and Interiors major in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences is growing! We are proud to let you know that we have 150 undergraduate majors. These students will be invited to network with you each month. The current faculty will also have representatives present and retired faculty will be invited. While networking and seeing the host site are the main purposes of Designing Dawgs, we will begin a brief program at 6pm. We hope these programs will more closely connect you to UGA as well as provide you with some educational information to enhance your professional development.
Our invitation list is to all Furnishings and Interiors and Fashion Merchandising alumni in the Atlanta area, however, we welcome others. To add a name to the mailing list contact Lynsee Miller: at 706.542.6402 or lynsee@fcs.uga.edu. We sincerely hope that you will join us for our next gathering.
